So many times society dictates what ‘fits in’ and what is considered a
social problem. Teen pregnancy and homelessness are considered that, a
social problem. However, those girls will mature through this time,
the only question is, are they street mature where they learn to trust
NO ONE and fight for everything they get; or do they mature in a
loving, caring atmosphere. These girls need the chance to turn this
hard time into opportunity. It is a very critical time of making
decisions that will direct their entire life. This opportunity will be
captured at the Virginia Martin House of Abundant Life.
It is our goal to not only educate and train these girls, but to
provide them with a stable, loving and nurturing environment. We
strive to instill self-confidence and respect, along with teaching
them a new way of life. In completing this we will help create a
future that will be filled with opportunities.
Most of these girls now become a statistic and victim to the street
life. Their only hope is to be arrested and maybe find help in a
prison before their path leads them to a funeral.
Through the House of Abundant Life these girls will receive the
life skills, education and provided with loving support, so that each
young woman in need can be certain of a brighter future.
This is a first of its kind in the state of Texas, there is none
other like it, and lives will be changed forever.
This mission and vision is a challenging task which involves
numerous people to accomplish. It also requires enormous financial
support from those who care about young women. This is an eternal
